At Good Threads, each brand we carry leaves a positive impact on our planet and the people on it. Each brand is made consciously in Canada, and each has a unique story to tell.
Rescue Design is founded upon the idea that beautiful design and sustainability can successfully coexist.
Concerned with the amount of waste and pollution the fashion industry produces as well as a desire to use locally sourced, readily available materials, Jude, creator of Rescue Design, turned her attention to using recycled leather as well as offcuts from local manufacturing. Rescue Design’s aim is to go beyond the regular recycling route, there is a certain eye that catches the new within the old and transforms into something bold and beautiful.
Rescue earrings are hand cut in small batches, making each pair slightly unique. Some pairs being sewn or bonded, others burnished and/or edge painted. All the fittings are sterling silver and suitable for sensitive ears and skin. The earrings are light in weight and contemporary.

After studying women’s natural curves and body movements, the founders of Yoga Jeans, the Wazana brothers deconstructed traditional denim patterns and fabrics and remade them as a new pair of jeans so comfortable and flexible that a woman could actually practice yoga in them. That’s how Yoga Jeans® was born.
All of their denim styles are 100% handcrafted at the Yoga Jeans® production facility in Canada.
Yoga Jeans® offers the most sustainable and eco-friendly denim products available. Over 90% of the fabric is used in the finished product, and the remainder is recycled. They use organic cotton whenever possible, and their washing formulas have a minimum liquid ratio, typically their water consumption is 50% less than industry standards. Their washing formulas are made of natural enzymes and biodegradable wash agents instead of toxic chemicals that are harmful to the environment, and because all Yoga Jeans® styles are locally made, their carbon footprint is minimal.
Preloved Toronto creates beautiful apparel using reclaimed vintage materials, with deadstock and overrun fabrics that would otherwise be destined for landfills.
From designing, manufacturing, shooting and shipping, it’s all done in right here in Canada.
Sea of wolves is the creative project of husband and wife team Catherine Gaudreault and Nathan Stewart. Catherine has been a clothing designer for a third of her life. Her approach to fashion is to be thoughtful of lifestyle and design and take inspiration from the natural world. Nathan pulls from his fine arts background to create the graphics for the line. His original artwork is a reflection of his love of nature and deep respect of the environment. With their combined talents and entrepreneurial spirit they created Sea of Wolves Design an ethically produced, Canadian made, artistic and wearable market ready line of garments produced in the beautiful, mountainous town of Nelson, British Columbia.
Sea of wolves is committed to using ethical business practices and producing clothing locally, providing job opportunities, keeping their price point affordable and avoiding unnecessary global shipping. After suffering with chronic pain, FREE REIGN founder Melanie designed a company that would help those experiencing chronic pain or illnesses to feel good in their bodies, even during difficult times. She started to design thoughtful articles of clothing including a line of oversized yet flattering elevated basics for various body types that are forgiving should you be losing or gaining weight like a lot of people with invisible illnesses experience. She also designed them to be versatile enough so that you could lounge around in the pieces or dress them up.
FREE REIGN is a brand that makes you FEEL GOOD, LOOK GOOD + DO GOOD. Everything they do + design has to make you feel good on the inside + out, it has to make you look good aesthetically but their messages have to make you look good personally too + doing good comes from the messages you spread, the fact that their pieces are all eco-friendly, socially conscious + from always giving back. So not only are they doing good for the world + our environment, but for our community of people, too. If any of their ideas doesn’t encompass all 3 of these objectives, they simply won’t do it.
Alasha Lantinga is a Canadian jewelry artist who creates her one of a kind pieces right in her home studio in Calgary, Alberta. I was introduced to her jewelry at a local market and instantly fell in love. Her unique style and craftsmanship using precious metal clay is truly one of a kind.
Inspiration for her work comes from an integration of many different elements. Growing up surrounded by the ocean and lush forests on Vancouver Island, nature is a large influence in many of her designs. Her travels throughout the Asian countries of Japan, China, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, as well as India have also had a subtle influence on her work as well as her love for yoga. Her work is a fusion of organic and geometric, funky and classic, earthy and ethnic, and always with the use of color.
Another amazing Canadian jewelry designer, Andrea Kelly Designs are crafted here in Calgary Alberta. We love supporting local artisans!
Her pieces pull upon spirituality, inner wisdom and mindfulness.
Her award winning pieces have been featured in Vogue, Bones, The Vampire Diaries and more. I was introduced to her work at a local market and immediately drawn to her beautiful creations.
